In the Area

Seattle Children's Theatre is located on the grounds of Seattle Center. Known as a major cultural hub of the city, boasting a number of world-class museums and acclaimed performance venues, as well as exciting cultural events and vibrant community festivals, the question becomes: how do you choose? We understand! Which is why we've narrowed down the top can't-miss spots for you and your family.

The Monorail is an iconic piece of the beautiful Seattle skyline and provides a fun, quick (it's only a two-minute ride!) and convenient link from downtown Seattle to the Seattle Center campus. Originally built as part of the 1962 World’s Fair (Elvis loved it!), the Monorail offers easy access to some of Seattle’s most popular and family-friendly destinations including SCT, Pacific Science Center, The Children’s Museum, and the Museum of Popular Culture (MoPOP). Note that the Monorail really only stops in one place. So if you are on-board and you see passengers remaining on the train after it's stopped, help them out. If you're from out of town, you'll be mistaken for a local!

Known as the “Center of the Center,” the Armory is a must-stop for your family. SCT subscribers receive 10% off at the “Center of the Center’s” plethora of fresh, local foods and beverages. Enjoy your tasty eats on the expansive, 60-foot outdoor deck, or take in the sights and sounds of the Armory’s many cultural celebrations.

Since 1962, Seattle Center has been an institution for exceptional events and experiences that build stronger communities. Something exciting is always happening at this heart of the city, from arts to festivals, public programs to sports events, speakers and lectures, and so much more.
